Opening hours 2024

January 1 - March 31: Open every day 10.30-14.00
April 1 - October 31: Open every day 10.00-18.00
November 1 - December 31: Open every day 10.30-14.00*

*Exception: Closed December 24 and 25

Tickets can be purchased at the entrance or online, www.norwaysbest.com and www.fjordtours.com At Norway's Best you can also buy round trip tickets for ferry and shuttle bus. The café at the main entrance Viking Vegkro is open every day 11.00-21.00

Prices when you buy tickets at the door

  • Day ticket Adult from 16 years: NOK 235,-

  • Day ticket Children 4-15 years: NOK 105,-

  • Day ticket Family (2 adults + own children 4-15 years): NOK 595,-
    (NB! Can only be purchased at the entrance)

  • Children under 4 years free of charge when accompanied by a parent.

  • Children under the age of 12 are not admitted without a parent or guardian.

  • Sorry, dogs not allowed (we have animals in the city)

  • Smoking only in designated zones.

  • Yes, I have storage space for luggage.

Did you know. All profits from ticket sales, food service and the gift shop go in their entirety to the construction, operation and maintenance of the Viking project.

Viking Valley...
Where Viking history is brought to life

Viking Valley is located in Gudvangen - in the heart of the unique fjord landscape in the Nærøyfjord, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here we find the Viking town of Njardarheimr, which breathes new life into the history and culture of the Viking Age. 

The gates are open to anyone interested in experiencing and learning about the Vikings and how they lived, worked and influenced the world around them. Here you can move between the houses and become part of a living city - an international community of Viking enthusiasts. 

Njardarheimr welcomes everyone to experience living history and help us build for the future using the past. The city is built with private, local funding and support from guests.
